Entry: free.
Friday 6 February:
Valentine extravaganza: 7pm to 10pm. To be officially opened by Hannah Tully, Miss Jersey Battle of Flowers. Private View (for an invitation contact Art in the Frame). 5% discount on all exhibition purchases on 6 February.
Jewellery, bags & scarves to be modelled during the evening. Live music from Bossa Baseline. Free raffle ticket for every guest.

Showcasing the very best of innovative, exciting contemporary and traditional textile based art forms.
Opportunities to participate in workshops given by our invited guests from England and the other Channel Islands.

Venue: Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society Hall [map].

Celebration of Costume
An evening of colour and glitter. Friday evening 8.30pm - 10.30pm. Mayfair Hotel. Tickets: £8.00 to be booked in advance to include drink and seating at table.
Well known costume designers Nigel Gates and Simon Thomas will talk about the designing, making and choice of materials for their beautiful and often humerous costumes made for the Jersey Battle of Flowers. Costumes will be paraded by local dancers and participants of the Battle of Flowers.

John Gillow lectures
 
2 - 4 April
Traveller, writer, lecturer and textile collector, John has been tracking down outstanding ethnic textiles for the past 30 years. Author of standard books on these textiles, he spends part of each year travelling in africa furthering his passion.
As well as contributing to many museum collections, John has lectured all over the world, most recently in the USA, Australia, and South Africa.
John will be giving 3 lectures whilst at the Textile Showcase in Jersey:

Colours of Cultures
 
28 April - 10 May
Colours of Cultures is an Art Charity Event. All art work is donated from local artists, inspired by other cultures. For each piece of work sold, fifty percent commission will go to the Jersey Disabled Holiday Group, a charity that pays for ten severely handicapped persons and their carers to go on a ten day holiday of a lifetime.
Venue: Gallery 2 The Harbour Gallery, St Aubin.
Dates: 28th April - 10th May
Opening night: Wednesday 28th April, 6 - 8.30pm. Diane Postlethwaite will open the exhibition at 7pm. Featuring live music from "Percussion Discussion". Refreshment available and all are welcome.
