Opening Night of "Reflections"
The Harbour Gallery and creative design studios, welcomed over 150 people to the opening of a very exciting and diverse exhibition , Reflections, paintings by Nicole Smith and Andrew Thompson on Wednesday 11th June.
The exhibition was officially opened by Professor Ed Sallis, Principal of Highlands College.
The exhibition shows how the work of 2 well respected local artist working in totally different mediums can "sit" so well together.
Nicole's work in mixed media creating a 3D effect would look comfortable on the walls of a Gothic cathedral and also on the walls of a modern corporate building .
Nicole is not afraid of working "large" but she shows with 3 smaller pieces that the work translates equally well onto a smaller canvas.
Andrew evokes images of "lazy hazy" days of summer, the viewer can almost feel the heat of the sun , the spray of the water and the heat mists coming off from the canvas.
Both sets of work provide "food for thought " when viewing the exhibition.
The exhibitions continues at The Harbour Gallery until 7th. July and is one not to be missed.
The Harbour Gallery and creative design studios are open 7 days a week 10.30am - 5.30pm situated on the boulevard at St. Aubin, next to Jackson's Boatyard.
Combine your visit with a meal or coffee and cake in the Food in the Frame Cafe.
