174 A small park without a house in it, in the parish of Castle Camps at the extreme end near Bartlow. Reached by a path [?] on rt. of Bartlow Camps rd. shortly before you come to the Rly arch. Two cottages on l. of rd. after passing arch. The former house belonged to the Ruck-Keenes of Swinscomb. (information from W.M. Palmer (Linton). Mills ann. ‘old gravel pit near Mr Keene’s house at Westhoe.. Manor of Westhoe, Castle Camps, Benj. Keene owner of Linton, held Westoe on lease by 1806 & made the Lodge his main seat; died 1837.
