Collecting Boxes
I do not know if it was March madness, or that people thought that Spring was in the air but 18 boxes were placed last month. Pat Le Herissier was certainly on a mission placing nine! Well done and a very big thank you to her for her efforts. Ken Le Quesne placed five, Eileen Palmer three and Ken Hudson one. Keep up the good work everyone.
Stamps for sale
Last month, Roger Marriott offered over £50's worth of new stamps for sale for the branch. Edith Gosselin and Eileen Smith contacted him and each purchased £10's worth of mixed value stamps for letters. If anybody else would like to buy stamps to boost branch funds, please contact Roger on 731145, he would be delighted to hear from you.
Thank you all for saving used stamps as well.
Parkinson's Information Day
On Wednesday 26th April 2006, between 10.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. we will be organising an information day in the Resources Room at Overdale Rehabilitation Centre to which you are all invited.
In conjunction with Neurocare, information will be available on the illness itself and we would like the opportunity of promoting "Jersey Branch" and give you an idea of the outings, exercise classes, therapies and equipment that we fund to help all sufferers of Parkinson's.
We extend this invitation to your families. The more awareness and understanding we can generate, the more they will be able to help you!
Tea, coffee and cakes will be available so why not pop in for a chat with Eileen, Marian or Suki. Could you please display the enclosed poster and if anyone can bake cakes please contact Eileen on 737128

 Party for Parkinson's
Awareness Week is nearly here, and like last year, we would like hosts/hostesses to organise something at home, inviting family, friends or fellow sufferers and carers to attend and to charge them for the privilege, thus raising money for the branch. It can be as simple as coffee with a raffle to lunch or dinner, cards, beetledrive or showing a video. Please contact Eileen on 737128 if you would be willing to have a party, and she will order an information pack for you.
Welcome to New Members
Eileen and the committee wish to welcome sufferers who have recently joined the branch. Information is available regarding Dao Yin exercise classes, aromatherapy massage sessions, swimming sessions at Cheshire Homes and taxis available for doctors/hospital appointments which are all funded by the branch. Please phone Eileen on 737128 if you need any details.
Jigsaws and Audio Tapes
The Society has recently had donated a selection of puzzles and story tapes. If you would like to borrow some please contact Eileen on 737128 and she will give you a description of what is available.
Pub Crawl
Suki Douglas and some of the Neurocare team will be frequenting several public houses on the night of Friday 28th April and rattling buckets to raise money for our branch. If you or any of your family would like to join in the fun and fundraising, please contact Suki on 623077.
Something Fishy is Going On
Jack Schofield will once again be organising a fishing competition and picnic at St. Catherine's breakwater towards the end of May. Unfortunately he has not been able to obtain a tide table, and is awaiting permission from the Harbour Office and St. Martin's Honorary Police.
If you are interested, please contact Jack on 738328 and as soon as the arrangements are finalised he will let you know.

Next meeting
We next meet at Communicare, on Tuesday 25th April 2006 at 8 p.m when Eileen will be organising a quiz. You do not have to be Brain of Britain to come along. We always have teams of 2 or 3 and questions are usually quite easy and useful hints are normally forthcoming from the quizmistress! (And she's a pussy cat compared to Anne Robinson)
Our gatherings are always lighthearted and fun, and everyone is always most welcome to come and join us. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served afterwards and we will also have a raffle.
By way of a change Ken and Marg Le Quesne will be selling batteries, household cleaning products and handwashes etc. at very reasonable prices. Why not get a bargain and help them earn some commission!
