FEBRUARY 2004

Last Meeting
As always the January meeting is our AGM and there were important changes to the Officers of the branch. At the committee meeting a fortnight previously, Roger & Joyce had let it be known that they wished to stand down from their roles as Chairman and Secretary respectively, but had said they would be prepared to stand for one more year if replacements could not be found, albeit that they would not be in the island all of the time because of their changed circumstances and family commitments. This would not have been ideal, and fortunately we have been able to find a new treasurer in Pam Turner and a new secretary in Maureen Le Feuvre and we are delighted to welcome them on board.
Roger proposed Eileen Smith as chairlady and said that he felt confident that with Eileen at the helm, Jersey Branch would continue to move forward.
Marian Pitt remains as vice chairman with June Tredant, Peter Hobson, Valma Le Feuvre and Nancy Le Brun as your committee. In recognition of their fourteen and a half years work for the branch, Roger & Joyce were presented with a sum of Euros to purchase something for their new flat in Ireland and everyone wishes them well in this new phase of their lives.
