JULY 2004

Last Meeting
Eileen Smith organised a quiz last month based on the popular "Blockbuster" series. Geoff's Geraniums scored 59 but were just pipped to the post by Clive's Chrysanths who scored 60. Congratulations to Clive, Ken and Marg who have since received a lottery ticket each but especially to Marg who was well tuned in to the questions and probably won her team the quiz.
Coffee, tea and biscuits were served afterwards and Eileen recited a few risque odes which finished the evening with a lot of laughter. A fun night was enjoyed by everyone.

Croquet Tournament
On the 12th June, 2004, six of our members enjoyed Golf Croquet at Quennevais at a charity event organised by the Jersey Croquet Club on our behalf. Graham Tredant and Eileen Smith, June Tredant and Pat Redmond, Roger and Joyce Marriott played against other teams in a round robin competition in the morning, and the semi-finals and final were played after lunch. Roger and Joyce won the tournament, congratulations to them, and a jolly well done to Joyce for playing a couple of blinding hoops and winning them the match. We haven't yet heard how much the event raised but we will be delighted whatever the result. Our members had a very enjoyable day.
P.D.S. Brochures
Last year Jersey Branch produced its own brochure and asked you to distribute them to your doctor, chemist etc. Could you please check where they were displayed and ring Eileen on 737128, if its time for a top up.
Great North Run Sponsorship
We are delighted for Lynda Roberts that monies raised so far total £715.00. Keep up the good work out there and lets make it £1,000 to spur Lynda on. She's expecting to run the 131/2 miles in under two hours. We wish her well. Could you please forward your sponsorship to Lynda at 2A, St. Brelades Park (cheques payable to the Parkinson’s Disease Society) during the first two weeks of September so she knows how much she's raised before the run. Thank you.
