MARCH 2007

Last Meeting
At our evening meeting last month Eileen organised table-top horse racing. Dices are used to determine which numbered horse moves and how many spaces it moves. Bets are placed and odds are worked out and prize money is paid at the end of each race. It was a fun night, refreshments and our usual raffle followed.
Scrabble was the order of the day for our afternoon meeting. Those new to the game played in pairs and were encouraged and helped by Eileen. Skilled players played individually, dictionaries at the ready for any challenges. Tea and biscuits followed.

 Parkinson's awareness week
Parkinson's Awareness Week this year falls on the 16th to the 22nd April, 2007. As it will only be four weeks after the conference, the Committee has decided that for this year we will only organise the supermarket can shakes.
Pam Turner will be in charge, and the rotas are already up and running. Collections this year have been arranged at Checker's, Plat Douet Road, St. Saviour from Monday April 16th to Saturday April 21st, 2007 inclusive and at the Co-Op, St. Peter from 14th May to 19th May, 2007 inclusive. It was not possible this year to arrange both can shakes during Awareness Week. Pam can be contacted on 732710 if you are available to help at one or both supermarkets please phone her, rather than Pam having to do a ring round.
We rely heavily on you giving of your time to raise funds for our branch and we are very grateful for any offer of help.
