Last Meeting
Eileen organised a quiz last month with six teams of three members taking part. It was in the form of the blockbuster TV quiz "Gold Run", when the first letters of the answer are given with a relevant question helping to get the answer. The top team scored 34 points and the last team scored 231/2 points. The teams were very evenly matched and there was plenty of laughing throughout, mostly at Ken Le Quesne's expense for which Eileen made her apologies at the end of the evening and everyone knew she was only pulling his leg!!

This is not a membership drive but an opportunity to tell you what you are missing out on. As a member of P.D.S. UK you would receive a quarterly magazine called THE PARKINSON. If you want to learn more about the condition - how to manage it - how other people cope - where research is at present - plus many good tips to help both the sufferer and the carer - you are recommended to join the P.D.S. UK. The annual member ship is only £4. If you are interested, do speak with Pam Turner, tel: 732710 or Eileen Smith tel: 737128.
Happy 15th Birthday Jersey Branch
Our branch was inaugurated on the 31st October 1989 so we decided to have a party this year to celebrate. On Sunday 31st October a buffet lunch was enjoyed by 44 members at St. John's Parish Hall and we were entertained by a pianist who had us all singing and organised "name that tune" music as well. A big thank you goes to Valma Le Feuvre for all the organisation and to her sons for putting up the tables and organising the car parking and especially to her three grand daughters who served and waited on tables. Thanks go also to June Tredant for baking and donating the cake. It was a good time to reflect on the branch's achievements over the years, and to thank the many people who have worked so hard to make the branch the success that it is today.
