Last Meetings
At our afternoon meeting last month Eileen organised a "Blockbuster" type quiz and teams were very evenly matched. Valma Le Feuvre and Berni Le Brocq scored 58 points, Margaret Carr and Jack Schofield 561/2, Alan Luce and Carol Le Brocq 551/2 and Pam Turner and Francis Le Brocq 49. Prizes were distributed and tea and biscuits followed.
At our evening meeting, Eileen organised Tabletop Horse Racing. Some horses were heavily backed, giving poor odds and others were rank outsiders. After four races no-one had won or lost a fortune, and a good time was had by all. Nibbles and soft drinks were enjoyed throughout the evening and tea, coffee and biscuits rounded off a fun night out.

 Celebration Christmas Lunch
This year's lunch is on Sunday, 2nd December, 2007 at Les Ormes Golf & Leisure Club, Mont a La Brune, St. Brelade at 12.30 p.m. for 12.45 p.m. sharp. There will be a raffle and we are to be entertained by Mr. Eric Le Conte and his Barbershop Quartet. This is a free lunch for sufferers and carers who are members of the branch and supporters are welcome to join us. Ken and Marg Le Quesne are in charge of bookings and can be contacted by phone on 854769. A menu is attached for you to choose from. Can you please contact Ken & Marg no later than Sunday November 25th if you would like to come along. Numbers are limited this year and unfortunately we will not be accommodating late comers, thank you. Our Chairlady, Eileen Smith, has been awarded an Honorary Life Membership of the Parkinson's Disease Society and it will be presented to her at the lunch, so we hope as many of you as possible will be there to join in the celebration.
Christmas Crafts Fayre
This event takes place this coming weekend at the Living Legend. Could you please display the enclosed poster. Thank you to everyone who has put their names down to man the Christmas cards stall.
Shopping by Phone
It has come to our attention that Checkers/Capital House in Bath Street will take your grocery shopping requirements over the phone and deliver them to your door for a nominal charge. So if you reply on family or friends to take you to the supermarket, there is no need to worry if they are unable to, for any reason. Just phone Checkers, Bath Street.

Next meetings
We next meet at Communicare, St. Brelade, on Tuesday, 27th November, 2007 at 8 p.m. when our speaker will be Catrina Ellery, who will be talking about and demonstrating gilding and gold leaf. I'm sure she will have some hints and tips for Christmas decorations, so please do come along. It is always important that we have a good turnout when a speaker is invited. Sherry and mince pies will be served and we will have our usual raffle and tea, coffee and biscuits will round off the evening. If anybody can help with transport, could you please phone Eileen on 737128.
Our afternoon meeting on Thursday, December 13th 2007 will be in the Resources Room at Overdale at 2.30 p.m. Suzie Maclagan, a senior physiotherapist specialising in neuro-habilitation and care of the elderly, who has recently returned to Jersey from the U.K., has expressed a wish to speak to our committee and members, to gain an understanding of the services available on the Island, has been invited to come along that afternoon to give us an insight into the kinds of treatments she can offer people in their own homes. It isn't often we get professionals coming along to speak, so I hope as many of you as possible will make an effort to attend this meeting. Refreshments will be served to round off the afternoon.
