OCTOBER 2007

Last Meetings
At our afternoon meeting at Overdale, last month we played Scrabble on a one to one basis and scores were very evenly matched in all the games. We were thoroughly spoilt as it was the air display and we had excellent views of the planes and especially the Red Arrows from our vantage point. Tea and biscuits and a chat rounded off a pleasant afternoon together.
At our evening meeting, Pam Turner spoke of her recent trip to Kenya with members of St. Clement's Church, and relived her experience through her talk and photographs, as to how they renovated a hospital in the village of Kaloleni which was in a very very poor state, both structurally and hygienically, which always provokes the mind and heart into asking "how do these people survive?" A collection was taken and £75 was raised towards this on going project. Refreshments and our usual raffle followed.
