| Last Meeting
Last month twenty-two members joined us for a very enjoyable lunch at Devil's Hole and we were delighted to welcome some new members to the branch and some members whom we hadn't seen in a while.
Afterwards Eileen Smith organised a quiz with seven teams of three taking part. Ten rounds of ten questions stretched the brain cells. In most rounds all answers started with the same letter of the alphabet with a sports round and picture round on Olympic cities. Teams were able to play their joker during the quiz. Out of a possible 110 points the top team scored 87 and the lowest score was 61. A most enjoyable afternoon was rounded off by the prize-giving, raffle and a cup of tea.

Concert in the Park
Friday July 17th was a wet and windy day and the Harmony Men decided to hold their concert in St. Luke's Church for the first time in ten years. The weather did not deter the audience and it was very pleasing to see the church full with standing room only at the back. It was a very informal evening with audience participation and wonderful to hear a male voice choir singing with such enthusiasm and strength. Eileen Smith was given the opportunity of speaking about Parkinson's and the branch's work and aims and Valma Le Feuvre read out parts of "A Letter to my Friends" originally written by a sufferer, to get across the message of day to day living with Parkinson's.
A retiring collection was taken totalling £633.32 towards branch funds. A big thank you go to the Harmony Men for choosing to support us with this concert and Eileen would like to thank the members who stood with buckets at the end of the evening receiving donations suitably attired in Parkinson's T-shirts.
Two cans were placed last month, and thanks go to Pat Le Herissier and Ken Le Quesne for placing one each.

||Dao Yin Exercise
Just to mention to new members of the branch that this exercise class takes place in the Resources Room at Overdale every Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. Due to increasing numbers we are planning to put on another class at 2 p.m. quite soon. This all depends on the availability of the room etc. and our tutor's other commitments on a Monday.
If you would like to go along and see a session or try out some of the movements, please contact Ken Le Quesne by phone on 854769 for details.
Jersey Branch is celebrating 20 years of its inauguration on Saturday, 31st October 2009 with a lunch at the Red Rose Restaurant at 12.30 p.m. for 1 .00 p.m. This is a free lunch for Parkinson's patients, their carers and our supporters who are members of the branch, and we hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us on this very special day. Our guest speaker will be Peter Le Rossignol who is known to many of our members. We have invited several guests who have been involved with the branch over the years. It will also co-incide with "The Tenerfest" so to enable us to take over the whole restaurant we have to advise the Red Rose as soon as possible and would like you to contact Ken and Marg Le Quesne on 854769 no later than Saturday September 5th 2009 if you would like to come along. We would like to point out that there will not be a Christmas lunch, as well, this year.
