This note, from the Royal Bank of Canada, followed a walk for the Canadian High Commissioner and Government party in February 2008:
What can I say......... the feedback has been fantastic, everyone enjoyed the day, and Leslie Patterson who has done a few walks herself with various guides thought you were 'absolutely fabulous'. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and she and the others had a wonderful walk with you, thank you so much for making the day such a success for us. Well done Remi and thanks again for all your assistance.

This letter, written by a visitor from Reykjavik, appeared in the Jersey Evening Post on 10 August 2007:

As a regular visitor to the island and having worked for a long time in the tourism industry myself, I always pick up the booklet about the month’s events in Jersey when I arrive.

This July I saw something that caught my eye which seemed both interesting and different: "Gourmet Walk - North", a guided full day walk combining the enjoyment of walking and enjoying good food. The tour was guided by one of Jersey’s Blue Badge Guides, Remi Couriard and to make a long story short I was absolutely thrilled with it.

Not only was the area we were walking in extremely beautiful, but Remi was an excellent, yet very informal and easy going guide who made sure that everybody felt good within the group. The personal way the tour was organised was excellent, with lunch and afternoon tea in two beautiful restaurants, special Jersey gourmet meals were arranged plus visits to a private farm and fantastic gardens where the owners came to meet and talk with the group. The walks were not too demanding, lots of stops to enjoy the view, take in Remi’s knowledge and to hear stories and myths.

As a visitor I felt very lucky to be a part of the group as most of the others were extremely friendly local people who were lovely to meet. I feel more tourists must get to know about them and that is why I’m writing this letter. The way in which they are organised gives visitors a unique opportunity to have local people introducing them to this beautiful island in a way you simply can’t do on your own.

I must say I think what Jersey has to offer visitors who are interested in walking is extremely good. The walking paths are excellent and very accessible so until this summer I have been walking mostly independently, but from now on I will definitely participate in more of the organised tours. Certainly the gourmet walks and picnics - I would like to encourage all visitors to the island to try them out. It’s definitely worth it - the personal touch of these tours make them really special and I for one will be going back with a very good memory of my day out with Remi and the group of Gourmet Walkers.
