I've been able to build a rapport with many individuals who live along the routes; so not only do we venture down beautiful green lanes and special sites of interest - but we also get invited into stunning private gardens, lanes that offer unseen views, or private fields that have unique features - like medieval ploughing.
We look at as much as possible along the way, even at how buildings were built, discovering there is a reason for everything. For example:- witches' stones above the roofline are there to stop rainwater coming down the chimney and leaking into the thatched roofs.
Walks are available as Shared Walks, Private Walks or even Bespoke Walks ~ see Reserve a Place.
This beautiful island
First of all, where are we? As you discover more about the Island you no longer feel like you're driving around a goldfish bowl missing it all - instead you're touching the pulse of Jersey!
I have seen a few things in one or two corners of the globe:- Guatemala, Mexico City, Canada and New Zealand among others. I still feel that my native Island is the best place in the whole wide world. I'm a real enthusiast, pure and simple, on a mission to tell everyone about this marvellous place called Jersey.
After returning to live in Jersey in 1993, I turned my attention to getting to re-know my childhood Island. I became a founder member and first Chair Person of the Jersey Tour Guides Association. Two years later I completed the Blue Badge Tour guide course.
Many months of research were needed to get the walks organised, although this was not too daunting a task, as a Blue Badge Guide gets involved in many subjects from archaeology to modern art.
